About Us
Developing livestock feed products which are affordable to the small and marginal farmers of the tropics
GOKIND PHARMA are aimed at bridging the gap between demand and supply of quality livestock feed. In doing so we feel that we can contribute significantly to the field of livestock nutrition and help realize the true genetic potential of the livestock by filling the gap arising due to deficient and imbalanced nutrition.

Our Story
Agriculture and allied activities play an important role in the gross domestic product of the country. Along with agriculture livestock play an immense role especially for the landless, small, marginal farmers especially as livestock can be traded at a short notice and time. Over the years the demand for the livestock products are escalating and thus the production of milk, meat and other livestock products have to keep pace with the needs of the citizens. Inspite of a large livestock (cattle, buffalo, sheep, goat, swine etc.) population the overall productivity per animal is quite low. One of the approaches to improve the productivity of the livestock that has been practiced in many tropical countries including India was through breeding the native livestock breeds with the exotic counterparts. However, it has been recorded that inspite of improved genetic potential the reproduction and productivity of the livestock are much below what is expected. This is primarily ascribed to the poor nutrition received by these genetically superior livestock.
The climate of the country varies from arid to hot and humid with erratic rainfall. The grasslands are highly degraded and of poor in nutritive values and are barely enough to keep the livestock alive. Almost all the sheep and goats are raised on grazing on poor quality grasses. Most of the stallfed livestock are provided with agro industrial byproducts and also agro leftovers. These leftovers are basically gut fillers and have almost no nutritive values. The grass and range lands of erstwhile times have been converted into agricultural land or have been overgrazed and there are high incidences of bush encroachments and also grasses with grasses having poisonous/ anti nutritional factors. Most of the soil on which the crops are cultivated are deficient in some minerals or the other. Minerals (macro and trace) play important roles in physiology of the livestock, it has been reported that most of the soils are deficient in some or several minerals, which are eventually observed in the grasses and also the crop residues and agro industrial byproducts.
